Technology Offers Webinar Highlights the European Integrated Photonics Ecosystem

The latest edition of the aCCCess Webinar Series on Technology Offers brought together experts from PIXSpain and PIXEurope to explore how European initiatives are accelerating the development and industrialisation of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs).

During the webinar, participants gained valuable insights into the complementary roles of the two organisations. PIXEurope showcased the capabilities of its Integrated Photonics Pilot Line, which supports the entire PIC development pathway, from fabrication and packaging to testing and validation. Meanwhile, PIXSpain, Europe's only Chips Competence Centre dedicated exclusively to photonic integrated circuits, presented its role in connecting the Spanish photonics ecosystem with Europe's broader PIC infrastructure.

The discussion highlighted how collaboration between competence centres and pilot lines can help companies, researchers and innovators navigate the rapidly evolving integrated photonics landscape. Attendees learned about available expertise, infrastructure and support mechanisms designed to accelerate the transition from research and development to market-ready photonic technologies.

By fostering connections between innovation stakeholders and key European technology infrastructures, the webinar demonstrated how initiatives such as PIXSpain and PIXEurope are strengthening Europe's position in integrated photonics and supporting the adoption of PIC technologies across a wide range of digital and deep-tech applications.
