The WBG Pilot Line is uniting leading facilities and expertise to advance wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies for next-generation power and radio-frequency electronics.
The WBG Pilot Line focuses on developing advanced wide-bandgap (WBG) and ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies to enable high-performance power and radio-frequency (RF) devices. Bringing together universities, research centers, and facilities across Finland, Italy, Poland, France, Austria, Germany, and Sweden, it provides a collaborative platform to address front-end challenges, enhance structural and electrical properties, and develop innovative MEMS devices based on WBG materials. By strengthening existing capabilities and defining a clear technology roadmap, the PL supports the transition from conventional silicon-based electronics to more efficient, robust, and high-performing solutions. Through shared expertise and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the WBG Pilot Line aims to accelerate innovation and reinforce Europe’s leadership in advanced semiconductor technologies.
