RO-SMARTSYS is Romanias Chips Competence Centre, strengthening national semiconductor capabilities and connecting Romanian stakeholders to the European ecosystem.
The Romanian Centre of Competence in Smart Systems for Sensing and Robotics (RO-SMARTSYS) is Romanias national Chips Competence Centre, established under the European Chips Act to enhance the countrys role in Europes semiconductor ecosystem. The centre provides SMEs, academic institutions, and research organizations with access to advanced expertise, pilot production lines, design platforms, and specialized training in micro-nanotechnology, robotics, and smart systems integration. RO-SMARTSYS supports technology transfer, skills development, and innovation, facilitating national and European collaboration, reducing reliance on imported semiconductors, and promoting EU-wide digital and green transitions.
