PIXSpain CC
PIXSpain CC is Spain's Chips Competence Centre for photonic integration, supporting SMEs and startups with training, design tools, and technology transfer to boost innovation in Europes semiconductor ecosystem.
The Photonic Chips Spain Competence Centre (PIXSpain CC) is dedicated to advancing photonic integration technologies as part of the Chips for Europe Initiative. Its mission is to serve as the premier hub for training, capacity-building, and technological support, particularly for SMEs and startups in Spain and across Europe.
PIXSpain CC focuses on facilitating access to the European design platform and pilot lines, delivering specialized training programs, and supporting technology transfer to accelerate the adoption of photonic solutions. The centre also actively promotes the Chips Fund, helping innovators secure venture capital and scale their technologies.
The consortium is led by the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV), alongside the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Universidad de Vigo (UVIGO), and Universidad de Malaga (UMA). Together, these partners offer workshops, technical guidance, and industry matchmaking opportunities.
By fostering cross-border collaboration through the European Network of Chips Competence Centres, PIXSpain CC strengthens Europes semiconductor resilience and accelerates the deployment of photonic integration technologies across diverse application domains.
