The Latvian Chip Competence Centre (LCCC), co-funded by the EU and the Ministry of Education and Science, is Latvias hub for semiconductor and microelectronics innovation, supporting research, startups, and SMEs.

The Latvian Chip Competence Centre (LCCC) is the national hub for semiconductor innovation under the European Chips Act. Led by Riga Technical University in collaboration with the University of Latvia, LCCC unites leading research institutions to strengthen Latvias role in the global microelectronics value chain. Its core expertise spans semiconductor microelectronics, silicon and polymer photonics, and open-source semiconductor design. Co-funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Education and Science, LCCC provides vital support to all members of the chip ecosystem particularly startups and SMEs by offering advanced infrastructure, specialized knowledge, and collaboration opportunities. Through these efforts, LCCC drives innovation, fosters industrial growth, and contributes to Europes competitiveness in semiconductor technologies.
