CC-Chip SI is Slovenia's Chips Competence Centre, focusing on niche semiconductor technologies such as ASICs, photonic and quantum chips, and components.
The Slovenian Competence Center on Chips and Semiconductor Technologies (CC-Chip SI) is Slovenia's national hub for semiconductor innovation, established under the European Chips Act. Coordinated by the University of Ljubljana, the consortium includes the University of Maribor, University of Nova Gorica, Jozef Stefan Institute, and the Center of Excellence on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The centre aims to accelerate the development of chip and semiconductor technologies, fortifying the semiconductor ecosystem at both the national and European levels. It provides services to SMEs, start-ups, research and technology organizations (RTOs), universities, large enterprises, and other key players. CC-Chip SI focuses on four critical segments: active promotion of the field, state-of-the-art knowledge and skills, access to advanced technology, and effective networking to strengthen the semiconductor value chain. Through its activities, the centre contributes to economic growth, digitization, sustainable development, and the well-being of society as a whole.
