CADETTI

CADETTI is Italy's Chips Competence Centre dedicated to advancing integrated circuit design, training, and technology transfer under the European Chips Act.

The Competence Centre for Access to Design Technologies and Training in Italy (CADETTI) is the Italian Chips Competence Centre, coordinated by Fondazione Chips-IT and headquartered in Pavia. Established by law in 2022 and launched in 2024, its mission is to strengthen Italys role in semiconductor innovation by promoting integrated circuit design, boosting professional training, and fostering collaboration among universities, research centres, and industry.

CADETTI offers access to European design platforms and pilot lines, supports SMEs and startups in developing semiconductor solutions, and provides guidance on legal compliance, IP, and business development. It also promotes access to the Chips Fund and venture capital, ensuring innovative companies can scale effectively.

Its research and training divisions cover RF-to-THz technologies, analog and mixed-signal design, and digital design and open hardware (including RISC-V), positioning CADETTI at the forefront of next-generation semiconductor design. By linking Italys expertise with European networks, CADETTI enhances Europes resilience, skills base, and technological leadership in semiconductors.
