KIIP is Estonias Chips Competence Centre, supporting startups and SMEs in chip design, hardware security, and IC testing while connecting Estonia to Europes semiconductor ecosystem.
The Knowledge and Innovation in Integrated Processors (KIIP) project is Estonias Chips Competence Centre, established under the EU Chips Act to strengthen national expertise in chip design and semiconductor technologies. KIIP focuses on supporting fabless chip companies, design service providers transitioning into the fabless sector, and technology companies developing ASICs and electronic devices. The centre provides consulting and support services in digital and mixed-signal IC design, RISC-V based open-source architectures, open EDA, and AI chip development. Specialising in hardware security, IC/system test and safety, and functional verification, KIIP leverages Estonias strong research track record and active role in European initiatives. By offering training, technology transfer, and access to expertise, KIIP empowers startups and SMEs while enhancing Estonias role within the European Network of Chips Competence Centres.
KIIP is coordinated by Ettevotluse ja Innovatsiooni Sihtasutus (EIS), with participation from AS Metrosert and the Estonian Electronics Industries Association (Eesti Elektroonikatoostuse Liit).
