Flanders Chips Competence Center enhances semiconductor expertise, offering training, project support, and access to technical infrastructures under the European Chips Act.

The Flanders Chips Competence Center (FC3) is a consortium of four Flemish universities, established under the European Chips Act to enhance the semiconductor sector in Europe. Its mission is to support industry growth, ensure a robust supply chain, and address talent shortages in the semiconductor ecosystem. FC3 specializes in chip development, system integration, and offers training programs for various audiences, including students and professionals. Key services include access to pilot lines, technical expertise, and R&D collaboration. FC3's geographic focus is Flanders, with partnerships supported by the European Union and local funding agencies.

Services

Pathfinding Demonstrators

Integrated circuits in the domain of electronics as well as photonics have a strong technological and economical added value. With the demonstrators, FC3 wants to guide companies along this path.

Services

FC3 will create an overview of the available expertise and provide guidance to find the needed service or expertise for chip or system-level projects. Additionally, joint R&D projects will be encouraged by the consortium partners.

Training Programs

FC3 will initiate, organize, and support courses targeted towards newly graduated students, senior professionals, secondary school students in STEM education, and policy and decision makers.
